21.03.2016 Flexible and rugged fertiliser bagging line in the Netherlands

Vlaeynatie BV is about to open a new fertiliser terminal near Terneuzen, the Netherlands. The terminal will serve as a logistics hub for the Chilean group SQM, a producer of plant nutrition, iodine and lithium derivatives, potassium and industrial chemicals. At the same location, Plantacote NV - a subsidiary of the Turkish company Doktor Tarsa Tarrm Sanayi ve Ticaret A. S. (DRT) - produces compound fertiliser materials. Doktor Tarsa is a 50/50 joint venture between SQM and a private Turkish family holding company. The new terminal will be fully operational before summer of 2016.

Vlaeynatie contracted Italian bagging specialist Concetti, through its local sales and service partner Maxpac, to supply all the packaging systems at the new terminal, including filling, closing and palletising systems. Within the scope of supply are two separate systems for packaging products into PE film and woven polypropylene bags, as well as a filling system for bulk bags.

The high-capacity Concetti bulk bag filling system includes a net weigher and will handle 70 to 80 bulk bags per hour depending on the type of products and bulk density. The new installation includes two bagging lines. An FFS (form, fill, seal) line equipped with a weighing system for free flowing products that can achieve a capacity of 1800 bags/h (25kg bags) and a Concetti Starpack open mouth bagging machine for pre-made bags with a double dosing system. www.concetti.com
