02.05.2016 Gericke capitalises on Industry 4.0

Gericke, Regensdorf, Switzerland, anticipates that the fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) will significantly benefit its customers. This relates to vertical and horizontal digital networking along the complete supply chain and within the production process. Behind that lies the effort to individualise products and services and the creation of competitive advantages. The foundation for progress is provided by data which can be interrogated in real time and extrapolated for purposes of quality assurance, process- and logistics control as well as for product design.

The two Easydos machine control systems for Gericke’s loss-in-weight feeders and the STP 61 control for its pneumatic conveying systems communicate via Ethernet IP. They can therefore be addressed directly, which is necessary for the networking of Industry 4.0. The benefit lies in the exact process management with efficient start-up and shut-down procedures as well as a complete traceability of the process parameters. In addition the user saves money because the pre-configured control units do not need an elaborate programming effort with error loops when the PLC is being installed. The control units are available at Gericke test centres. During product trials, project development time can be reduced and planning reliability can be enhanced. www.gericke.net
