Industrial Washing Machines (IWM), Kings Norton, Birmingham, UK, recently supplied a pallet washing system for use by Swiss company Schweizer Rheinsalinen, one of the largest salt producers in Europe. Single person operation and future expansion are among the key benefits of the new system that delivers intensively cleaned pallets, which are dried with a high-efficiency single stage dryer, at a rate of up to 100 pallets per hour. The IWM P100 machine employed in this project is ideally suited for use in plants where quick and repeatable washes are needed. Water and detergent are re-circulated from a heated tank to ensure cost-effective operation of the sustained jet washing system used to clean the pallets, ensuring that operational costs are kept to a minimum.

 

Achieving high cleanliness and hygiene standards was of paramount importance because the plant produces food-grade salt alongside industrial grades.
