Pharma industry experts learn latest tablet coating developments
Lödige Maschinenbau, Paderborn, Germany, in mid-September invited members of the working group of tablet coaters and manufacturers from the pharmaceutical industry to meet at its headquarters in order to learn about and discuss latest industry developments. Technology experts from Lödige explained the continuous mixing process for direct compression of solid dosage forms as well as continuous wet granulation and subsequent continuous fluidised bed drying.
Participants watched a sugar coating process involving the Lödige LC 70 coater in Lödige's in-house pharmaceutical technical centre. The LC coater series was specifically developed for coating tablets. It offers a high degree of automation and a very fast coating process that ensures consistently high quality. The focus of this meeting was specifically the newly developed sugar coating system provided by the Lödige machine. Sales manager Reiner Lemperle, commented: "This meeting allows fascinating insights and interesting feedback every year.
