12.12.2016 Aseptic handling of tomato products

Goglio, Daverio (VA), Italy – working in association with Fres-co System España – has recently installed its GNovasteril aseptic filler system at the Badajoz plant (Extremadura, Spain) of CONESA Group, a world leader in processing of tomato products. The family-run company was established in 1976 at Badajoz and initially handled some 6000t of tomatoes per harvest. Today it is a multinational managing a production of one million tonnes of fresh tomatoes per harvest, with nine production plants on three continents (five in Spain for the final production, two in Portugal, one in China and one in California). It mainly processes raw material (tomato concentrate, juice, pulp) to be packed in various formats for different market needs: from the industrial sizes up to 240kg, to smaller consumer sizes.

GNovasteril, the aseptic packaging line, can be equipped with a wide range of dosing systems which are sterilised using CIP and SIP processes. "GNovasteril has allowed us to enhance productivity and reduce costs, a further step for a better management of our resources" said Manuel Vázquez Calleja, CEO at CONESA Group. www.goglio.it
