24.09.2012 Haver & Boecker celebrates 125-year jubilee and Technology Days

Having celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Haver & Boecker Wire Weaving Division with a ceremony, open day and an employee party, the Machinery Division joined in with the latest Haver Technology Days held over three days during the last week of August.

The invitation to the A2 Forum in Rheda-Wiedenbrück  – close to the company’s Oelde headquarters – was taken up by 350 customers, representatives, and employees from subsidiary companies. The objective of the event was to inform guests about the organisational and technical developments coming from the Germany-based family-owned company, get a feel for the latest international trends, and to gain benefit from synergies arising from the activities within the Haver Group.

For the first day of the conference, strategy day, managing director and partner Dr Reinhold Festge was able to line up an array of renowned speakers, including Nigeria’s Dr Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, who described the stellar development of his company and outlined ideas and dreams for the African cement market.

The second day, devoted to technological developments, focused on technical trends and developments within Haver & Boecker. Employees of the different business units covering cement, chemicals and building materials and minerals gave specialist presentations. In addition, the company’s innovation manager Dr Stephan Hüwel explored prospects for the group’s technical future.

The third day, communications day, was for the employees of the Haver Group. Main themes were worldwide networking, rationalisation and interaction between the group’s many different divisions and locations.
