The Wolfson Centre in the School of Engineering requires an experienced specialist in bulk solids handling to augment its team of engineers providing consulting services to industry.  Activities will include laboratory, site and analytical work relating to design and troubleshooting of industrial solids handling systems, joining clients' design and engineering teams when required, and a wide range of sales and marketing activities.  Engagement in research will also be required.
 
A PhD (completed or close to completion) or equivalent qualification in some aspect of bulk solids handling is required, together with some experience of working in industry.  Proven hands-on skills in laboratory and practical engineering work are essential.  The candidate will need to have exceptional communication skills both written and oral, and be able to present themselves and The Wolfson Centre to industry clients in a way that will impress.  Flexibility to travel both in the UK and overseas for up to about two weeks at a time is required.  Fluency in a European foreign language would be an advantage. Hours of work will be full time but flexibility to make early starts and/or late finishes when travel or workload requires it will be essential.
 
Salary Scale: £24,520 - £29,249 per annum. Closing date for applications: 28 September 2012.
