14.08.2017 Advances in coating technology for pharma applications

Gebr. Lödige Maschinenbau, Paderborn, Germany, will on Stand 1-517 at POWTECH be showcasing a series of innovations in the field of coating technology for the pharmaceutical industry. The LC series of coaters, specially conceived for coating tablets, has been the subject of extensive redesign. For example, a newly configured airflow now provides a significant boost in efficiency and availability of the machines. Advanced sensors facilitate optimisation of the spraying and drying process.

Lödige will also be presenting the newly developed LC Lab laboratory coater which is of modular design and can be equipped with the individual modules needed for the coating process or specific application. This has been specifically designed for laboratory use, starting with the choice of Corian for the housing. This FDA-compliant composite material with outstanding hygienic properties is easy to clean, resistant to solvents as well as being impact-, scratch- and wear-proof and permits a joint-free finish. Seams that are problematic from a hygienic point of view have thus been eliminated.
With the LC series of coaters the nozzle arm is adjusted from the outside by means of a hand wheel – or fully automatically as an option
