Bühler, Uzwil, Switzerland, chose the first day of the VICTAM international trade fair, 12-14 June in Cologne, to launch its new PolyOne single-screw extruder which has been designed to consistently deliver high product quality for the pet food and aqua feed industries. “PolyOne enables our customers to maximise their productivity, and helps to prevent product recalls,” said Christoph Naef, head of Bühler Group’s nutrition business unit. PolyOne has been designed to meet highest food and feed safety and hygiene standards. It is a modular system and can therefore be adapted to customers’ specific needs, such as higher capacities.

A double-stage preconditioner separates the mixing zone from the retention zone. This feature helps ensure optimal, intensive mixing at high screw speeds and gentle retention across a narrow time range at a low screw speed.

The PolyOne is equipped with a user-friendly and intuitive touchscreen control system. Safety circuits prevent damage due to improper use. Emergencies trigger self-stopping of the extruder fully automatically.
