29.10.2012 ATEX-compliant silos for rice and wheat flour

Barton Fabrications, Bristol, UK, has supplied two new silos to Brecks Foods which is experiencing increased export sales of rice and wheat flour products. Each with a capacity of 60t and a height of 12m, the silos increase the number of storage vessels at the company’s Selby site to five. Barton Fabrications’ food silos are all manufactured with explosion vents and heavy gauge walls to ensure full ATEX compliance.
Commenting on the purchase of the silos, Brecks’ owner James Hirst said: “Bartons made the specification and supply of the silos straightforward, especially in relation to the requirements for ATEX compliance. They also worked closely with the materials handling contractor to ensure that the installation and commissioning process went smoothly.” www.bartonfabs.co.uk
