26.11.2012 Rotary lobe compressors open new horizons for flour conveying

Aerzener Maschinenfabrik reports that a Delta Hybrid unit has comprehensively solved an urgent pneumatic conveying problem at the Saalemühle flour mill located in Alsleben, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The flour had to be transferred into a silo at an altitude of 65m and at a rate of about 24t/h. The previous maximum pneumatic conveying height at the plant had been 45m. This combination of extended height and required throughput is beyond the capability of conventional blowers with a maximum pressure of 1 bar.  For 18 months this task has been performed faultlessly by a rotary lobe compressor from the latest Aerzen Delta Hybrid series with a constant maximum pressure of 1.2 bar, still well below the maximum pressure possible of 1.5 bar. Thanks to the impressive performance of this first rotary lobe compressor, a second - smaller - unit from the Delta Hybrid series will be installed shortly for a second conveying section at the mill. www.aerzen.com
