25.03.2013 Automatic dosing of feed additives directly from containers

German animal feed producer Bröring has ordered a flexible container components dosing (FCCD) system from KSE Process Technology, Bladel, the Netherlands. It will be used for dosing raw materials for feed production, especially premix and micro components. By purchasing this highly accurate dosing system, the German company will have fully automated handling of additives which was previously carried out manually. This will allow operators to focus on other important aspects of the production process. This multi-functional system also allows Bröring to dose between 100g and 150kg with a single machine.
The company will use existing transport containers for storage of the raw materials. These can be simply placed on the ALFRA FCCD by a forklift to dose directly into a weigher. The same applies to bulk bags. By using existing transport containers and bulk bags there is no need to construct a new silo. Raw materials will be transported via the ALFRA FCCD through a pneumatic pulse phase pipeline, also supplied by KSE, into a mixer. The end result will be greater flexibility and increased production capacity. www.kse.nl
