01.04.2013 Silo venting filter offers 1 bar as standard

Dustcheck, Stoke-on-Trent, UK, has designed and developed an innovative silo venting process which now incorporates an improved pressure shock resistance of 1 bar. The company’s SFJC-VU silo venting filter now represents significant cost savings for industry as its improved pressure rating, conical filtration technology and the ability to use smaller explosion relief panels translate into appreciably lower running costs.
Technical director Nigel Hubbard said: “Over recent years it has become more apparent that the shape of a silo can influence the pressures generated during an explosion from within the silo itself. Any silo with a length greater than its diameter will see an increase in pressure as this length to diameter ratio grows. This fact places a greater burden on the strength, not only of the silo itself, but for any connected piece of equipment.” The company’s dust collector range has been designed for safe and simple maintenance. Units are available in a choice of rectangular or circular construction and offer ‘cleanside’or ‘dirtyside’ removal. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically and a wide range of options are available including ATEX compliance. www.dustcheck.co.uk
