15.07.2013 Haver Group secures giant Saudi contract for liquids and solids handling

Together with its Westphalia-based parent company Haver & Boecker and machine builder Möllers, Feige Filling has received its biggest order in the company’s more than 40 year history from Foster Wheeler. This relates to part of the world’s largest petrochemical plant currently in planning and scheduled to be constructed in a single step. In keeping with its “Everything from a single source” slogan, the Haver Group was successful in convincing engineering contractor Foster Wheeler and customer Sadara Chemical Company during a series of earlier contract negotiations and design meetings.

Sadara Chemical Company, Al Jubail, which is building the world’s largest petrochemical plant, is a joint venture between Dow Chemicals and ARAMCO. Completion is planned in a single phase by 2015. Feige Filling was able to win the contract for liquids intra-logistics within the process chain, whilst Haver & Boecker takes responsibility for solids logistics. Soon basic chemicals will be filled at a rate of around 90,000 litres per second into transport packaging units or delivered to the logistics system in single units. The chemicals, including isocyanate, are toxic and many of them are also explosive. The Haver Group is able to offer a single project team interface with the customer, providing a positive impact on communication efficiency. Years of successful business relationships have led to a solid basis for trust. Both joint venture partners, Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical, between them already operate a total of more than 200 systems from Feige and Haver & Boecker.
The liquid-filling volume that is managed by Feige is designed so that a rate increase of approximately 120,000 litres per hour can be reached with little cost. While Haver & Boecker will deliver six lines for filling plastic granulate, Feige is responsible for supplying six drum-filling lines. www.haverboecker.com
