26.08.2013 Mixers offer high cooling efficiency

Henschel Mixing Technology, a business unit of Zeppelin Systems, Friedrichshafen, Germany, has developed a new series of HCE cooling mixers which have been designed to provide outstanding cooling efficiency. HCE (Horizontal Cooler EFF) mixers are available in sizes within the range 1700-6000 litres and they now feature a newly designed vessel system as well as an innovative cooled mixing tool with large surfaces.
The HCE series has already been tried and tested in PVC manufacturing. Zeppelin reports that until now, producing PVC dryblends required blending and heating the PVC with fillers and additives in a heating mixer, finally reducing the temperature of the blend in a cooling mixer. Because of the cooling capacity required and the time available, the cooling mixer needed to be two and a half times larger than the heating mixer. Now much smaller cooling mixers can be used. The new mixer, together with other recent Zeppelin group product novelties, will be exhibited at K 2013 (Hall 9, Stand B41). www.zeppelin-industry.com
