16.09.2013 Schütz builds second IBC factory in France

Schütz, Selters, Germany, a world leader in production of transport packaging systems, has begun constructing a new manufacturing plant for intermediate bulk containers on a 15,000m²

site at Saint-Etienne. Scheduled to be operational by beginning of 2014, this will be the company’s second French IBC production site. Containers manufactured here will include new ECOBULKs made in a three-layer extrusion process and, as part of the launch of the new Schütz FOODCERT IBCs, it will be prepared for certification in accordance with the industry standard FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification). At a later date facilities will also be provided for reconditioning of used containers.
The decision to expand production capacity in France was taken in the light of steadily increasing output from the existing factory at Marcoussis, northern France. The new factory will be well located to serve customers in the flourishing Rhone-Alpes industrial area as well as those in Switzerland. Shorter transport distances will allow the company to improve logistics as well as its carbon footprint, both of which will benefit the environment. Maximum hygiene standards will be guaranteed by loading the containers inside the manufacturing plant. Many new jobs will also be created in the region. www.schuetz.net
