21.10.2013 Scale-up made easy in new advanced test plant

Among the exhibitors at SOLIDS Basel (see above) will be Frewitt, Granges-Paccot, Switzerland, which will be on Stand C43. The company has recently inaugurated an expanded test facility where clients can carry out trials on their bulk materials, optimise their processes, or develop a new system design. The test plant consists of modules that are easy to integrate or interchange.
Anything from laboratory and small production volumes (0.5 to 200kg/h) to large volumes with flow rates > 5000kg/h can be accommodated. By making just a few minor adjustments, the plant can be converted from either a laboratory system equipped with a HammerWitt-Lab to a mid-size production volume, industrial system equipped with the ConiWitt, or from one of these aforementioned configurations to another one designed for a high production volume, for example with the TurboWitt rotary sifter.
The processes of de-agglomeration, control sifting, grinding, pulverising, and sizing can be covered in the milling area alone, thanks to the different designs of sieve mills (rotary sieve drum, one-sided rotor, etc) and with the large selection of rotor and sieve types, nearly all powders and granulates can be processed. The new facility can also accurately test viscous, sticky, heat-sensitive, and hygroscopic products. www.frewitt.com
