11.11.2013 Festge elected president of VDMA

Dr Reinhold Festge, managing partner of Haver & Boecker, Oelde, Germany, has been elected as the new president of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) at a gathering of its members in Stuttgart on 18 October 2013. He succeeds Dr Thomas Lindner of Groz-Beckert KG who served as president of the VDMA since 2010.

Dr Festge, a qualified doctor of medicine, was born in Oelde in1945. After completing his medical school studies he majored in business administration, later becoming managing director of Haver + Beumer Latinoamericana in Brazil. From 1985 to 1987 he served as managing director of Haver Filling Systems in the USA. He has held his present position as CEO of Haver & Boecker in Oelde since 1987. The company was founded in 1887 and currently employs over 2700 staff worldwide. In 2012 the group had a sales turnover of 402 million euros. Its product range extends from packing machines and mineral processing technology to wire weaving and woven wire products for industrial and architectural applications.
Festge sits on the main board of the VDMA. From 1998 to 2004 he was chairman of the VDMA professional association for construction and building material machinery.
