Pelletron, Lancaster, PA, has won an order from the Mossi Ghisolfi Group, with headquarters in Tortona, Italy, for the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) pneumatic transfer system to be installed at its new PET plant being built in Texas. The system being supplied by Pelletron comprises three process components: STRANDPHASE® conveying, Pellbow® pipe bends and DeDuster® for fines removal. Besides lower investment costs, pellcon3 provides major savings due to very efficient energy consumption compared with dense phase conveying. Unlike dense phase systems, pellcon3 does not create any dynamic forces, thereby ensuring lower building construction and silo costs. The mechanical completion of the plant is planned for the third quarter of 2015. Mossi Ghisolfi is one of the world’s largest PET producers.
