Rota Val, Chippenham, UK, manufactures diverter valves for the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries in addition to the rotary valves for which the company is better known. Its range of PS diverter valves are designed to work with either lean or dense phase pneumatic conveying systems and are usually manufactured from stainless steel.  An S-shaped pipe design reduces product degradation, making these valves well suited for handling fragile products. The two valves pictured were manufactured from carbon steel for the company’s Scandinavian agent as part of a salmon feed system. The largest PS diverter valve in Rota Val’s standard range is 150mm; these two are 200mm and had to be designed and manufactured from scratch on a bespoke basis and included a computerised control system to handle the inflatable seal.
