30.06.2014 High-temperature metal separator for plastics industry

Bunting Magnetics Europe, Berkhamsted, UK, has introduced the Machine-Mounted All-Metal (MMS) high-temperature separator which can cope with temperatures up to 350°C. Removing metal contamination from plastic processing lines traditionally can prove difficult, especially at high temperature points. The MMS separator, which can be installed at low-headroom locations, has been designed to provide efficient rejection of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants. It is especially suitable for choke-feed applications where the product is at a higher than normal temperature. The unit, which can easily be retrofitted, bolts directly to the infeed of processing equipment, such as extruders, injection and blow moulders, and supports the weight of hoppers and other auxiliary equipment. A fast pneumatic rejection mechanism aided by precise timing results in accurate cycling and conservation of good material.

The device will be exhibited at Interplas, Birmingham, 30 September – 2 October, Booth H11. www.buntingeurope.com
