25.06.2012 Cost-efficient vacuum conveying of food-grade powders

Piab, Täby, Sweden, has launched the piFLOW®f pneumatic conveying system which, according to the company, has been designed for customers who do not wish to compromise between price, technical performance and energy consumption. Designed specifically for use in the food industry, the new system is FDA compliant and full-opening capability provides for instant discharge ensuring increased material throughput.

Vacuum is produced by using COAX® cartridges which are smaller, more efficient and more reliable than conventional ejectors. The company states that a vacuum system based on COAX technology can provide three times more vacuum flow than conventional systems, while reducing energy consumption.

“The new piFLOW®f design makes it possible to double the conveying capacity for many materials, compared to traditional conveyors. That it is also a food-grade product makes it interesting in a big global market”, commented Josef Ramslöv, vice president of Piab’s materials handling division.
