18.06.2012 Mauser opens factory in Poland

In mid-June industrial packaging specialist Mauser Group with worldwide headquarters in Bruehl, Germany, inaugurated its first plant in Poland. Located at Gliwice in the Silesia region, the new facility will produce UN and non-UN intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) including the SM6, SM13 and SM15 models designed specifically for handling hazardous and food-grade products. In addition it will manufacture UN-approved open-top drums of 120
and 150 litres capacity as well as 220-litre L-ring drums. Customers will also be able to benefit from the reconditioning services of the National Container Group (NCG) a Mauser subsidiary.

“Expanding our activities in Eastern Europe is a major strategic step for us in the market, especially as we see a growing economic impact of Poland for the packaging industry with an increasing demand for reliable packaging solutions,” said Dr Jürgen Scherer, SBU manager Europe at Mauser. “Until now, we served our customers in the Polish market through our plants in Germany.” The new Polish plant will also cater for the needs of other central and eastern European nations including Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic countries.
