06.10.2014 Container mixer ensures fast recipe changes

The Henschel Mixing Technology business unit of Zeppelin Systems, Kassel, Germany, has extended its successful container mixer series with the introduction of the Type CMS. With this latest model the container is fabricated entirely from stainless steel and comes with a polished interior and glass bead blasted exterior surfaces. A major advantage for customers is that all Henschel CM and CMB containers can also be used with the CMS mixer. The rounded contours of the mixing tool have been designed to generate an ideal mixing vortex for optimum blending. Aspirated extraction prevents any dust contamination during the docking process.
Controls of the CMS series have been newly developed as a human-machine interface. The hardware is based on Siemens S7-314 with a KTP 600 touch panel and software with a user-friendly interface. In addition to the Siemens recipe editor, the operator has access to the “easy-handling” operation menu, whereby the recipe is automatically generated from the pre-saved data, leaving just the start function to be activated. The CMS is especially suitable for homogenising all free-flowing bulk raw materials in plastics and food industries as well as for producing powder paints or pre-dispersing pigments. www.zeppelin-systems.com
