09.03.2015 Metal detection for coffee beans/magnetic filtration of liquid chocolate

Eclipse Magnetics, Sheffield, UK, recently supplied a gravity feed GFR Vario metal detector with reject facility to the factory of prestige tea and coffee producer Ringtons located in north-east England. The unit offers a maximum throughput capacity of 2000 litres/h and forms part of a production line which includes a coffee roaster and de-stoning equipment. Checking several tonnes of raw coffee beans per day, it is used to detect and reject all metal contaminants (ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel particles) as part of Ringtons’ newly introduced HACCP regime, ensuring the safety of every product to come off the line.

The GFR Vario series is available in a range of sizes from the GFR Vario 30 with a throughput of 400 litres/h up to the GFR Vario 150 which is capable of achieving impressive performance even at throughputs as high as 25,000 litres/h. Later this month Eclipse is scheduled to launch the LiquidPro range of dedicated liquid chocolate filters, providing high-quality magnetic filtration for high-volume chocolate manufacture. The LiquidPro range has been designed to meet the requirements of the confectionery industry to ensure stringent levels of safety whilst maintaining speed of production. www.eclipsemagnetics.com
