Drum coater sets new standards
Glatt, Binzen, Germany, chose the occasion of last week’s ACHEMA to launch the latest version of its GCC drum coater which offers many innovations. It was developed specifically for the requirements of the pharmaceutical, chemical, and foodstuffs industries, with special emphasis being placed on performance and versatility. The GCC benefits from Glatt know-how resulting from 40 years of experience in coating. It has been designed to ensure a consistently high product quality and reproducibility as well as extensive process safety and comfortable handling.
A new, fully automatic nozzle arm was developed by Schlick, exclusively for Glatt. It allows settings in three directions on two axes. Modern laser technology monitors the angle and distance of the spray arm to the tablet bed during the entire coating process in order to ensure maximum uniformity. In the development of the new nozzle arm, which can be easily and quickly dismantled without requiring any tools, special emphasis was placed on reducing the number of components. The GCC also features a patented, horizontal air guidance system and a fully perforated drum that allows filling levels from 10% to 100%. www.glatt.com
