Fluidwell Instruments, Veghel, the Netherlands, has introduced the Triflex LNI 200 level sensor which has been designed to provide accurate results with non-conductive bulk materials including powders, pellets, granulates and liquids. Uniquely, it is capable of providing level measurement with great reliability from the outside of a non-metallic vessel.

In this respect it can even provide accurate level measurement of low dielectric materials without coming into contact with them, thereby eliminating any risk of product contamination. The unit incorporates novel field time control (FTC) technology which generates an electric field between a transmitting electrode and multiple receiving electrodes. Earlier this year the company launched the Presense LDS300 level detection and switching system which also employs FTC technology (see Industry News for week of 7 May 2012).
