23.11.2015 Cement plants retrofitted with despatch automation software

Schenck Process, Darmstadt, Germany, has installed its LOGiQ despatch automation system to control and monitor flows of construction materials at three LafargeHolcim cement plants located in the German towns of Dortmund, Duisburg and Beckum. This follows experience gained by both companies last year converting 18 Eastern European cement works with the same technology. At the request of Holcim Deutschland, Schenck Process developed a uniform software solution with standardised workflows for supervising despatch of cement as well as incoming raw materials based on the LOGiQ series of software modules.

The LOGiQ despatch automation technology networks the local intelligence of matched hardware and software modules for efficient logistics in bulk materials and cargo handling industries. The system automates processes and flows of goods at all points between ordering and despatch. At the same time the software controls information flowing from and to production processes and commercial systems and interactions with the people and machines involved. If customers’ requirements change, the system can be flexibly reconfigured. www.schenckprocess.com
