Simultaneous despatch of seven IR batch systems
Kreyenborg Plant Technology, Senden, Germany, reports that it recently shipped seven almost identical batch machines to customers in North America and Asia. In both cases the machines will be used for crystallisation of relatively small amounts of PET granulate in PET fibre production.
The company points out that PET granulate often shows a tendency to clump during the crystallisation phase which can lead to substantial problems in traditional mixing tanks. High revolving speed of the drum and flexible temperature control throughout the process enable even the most difficult substances, such as polyester, to crystallise. Direct heat input from infrared radiation of the product reduces the process time to only 15-20 minutes. www.kreyenborg.com
