30.05.2016 Upgraded FFS packaging machine

Coperion, Weingarten, Germany, has launched a newly designed version of its ITL 250 FFS (form-fill-seal) packaging machine. Automated features provide accurate weighing, precise dosing and hygienic packaging for crystalline, granular, beaded or flaked bulk products. Thanks to a variety of new design features, this machine is able to function with greater efficiency than the previous model. The new conical shape of the loading hopper ensures fewer dead zones and better cleanability. Faster and more accurate dosing can be achieved by the new, servo-actuated gravity feeder. Furthermore, the machine is now equipped with a vacuum pump, instead of a venturi system, which results in better vacuum flow for moisture-sensitive products and improved bag shaping. Additional design improvements include a new body frame with motorised reel unwinder, new filling spout, motorised pivoting arms and outlet conveyor. Together, all these enhancements are designed to ensure more efficient and reliable operation. Beyond that, a mobile version mounted on a self-propelled cart is also available. www.coperion.com
