Germany establishes bulk solids handling/processing association
In September DSIV (Deutscher Schüttgut-Industrie Verband) – German Bulk Industry Association – was inaugurated, with Stefan Penno of Rembe GmbH SAFETY + CONTROL elected as chairman and Hans-Michael Hengl of Martin Engineering GmbH as his deputy. The advisory committee includes representatives from manufacturing companies, associations, universities and exhibition organisers. DSIV will maintain close links with the trade publication Silo World and more than 1000 German companies associated with bulk processing industries will become directly involved. Headquartered in Wiesbaden, it will aim to provide a forum for discussion, education and networking with high priority given to information dissemination among professional and managerial staff members, and in particular training of young recruits within the industry. www.dsiv.org
