15.05.2023 Leading role for “Intelligent” conveyor belt tracker

Conveyor belt specialists ScrapeTec, of Kamp-Lintfort, Germany, recently launched its “E-PrimeTracker”.

The “intelligent conveyor belt tracker” is equipped with sensors that can detect belt running situations, belt speed, and much more - and transmit this data to monitoring control systems. This makes predictive maintenance possible, which can prevent damage, misalignments, and even belt downtime.

A well-known German company has, for the first time, now agreed with ScrapeTec to install an E-PrimeTracker system on a critical conveyor belt where there are often belt misalignments, but the causes cannot be verified.  The E-PrimeTracker is intended to help here. In a specified testing phase, it will be determined whether the ScrapeTec solution can meet customer requirements and ensure uninterrupted belt operation.

With the new E-PrimeTracker, ScrapeTec is specifically targeting the demand for predictive maintenance. So far, the company had already been using their dust protection solution, AirScrape, which is a non-contact chute side-sealing system, at large mining operations worldwide. It has also found success in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. The results of the E-PrimeTracker test with the new German customer will show whether this innovation will be as successful as the other members of the product family.
