18.03.2013 Automatic bag emptier for dustfree and hygienic applications

Dinnissen Process Technology, Sevenum, the Netherlands, has developed a new ultrafine version of its Dima 200 bag discharger. The new model, which ensures automatic emptying of bags while releasing less than 0.1mg of particles per m3 of discharged product, is intended primarily for companies that need to create a safe working environment for their operators in a wide range of sectors. Bags can automatically be fed into the unit and after it is hermetically closed the emptying process is automatically started whereby the bag, which is suspended by two hooks, is cut in half by a revolving knife. Vibration helps ensure total contents discharge, after which the empty bags are automatically removed. The unit is fitted with a double filter with powerful suction and a special dust-tight seal for the air exhaust. The smoothly polished interior simplifies cleaning and reduces risk of residual particles being left in the machine. Fully automated cleaning-in-place based on air flow and suction practically eliminate need for any human intervention during the cleaning process.
For applications where any risk of contamination to the process must be avoided, an option is available whereby the bags, after being fed into the discharger, are first cleaned with the help of a special air knife before being slit open. After the cleaning process, any existing dirt or contaminants present are removed by vacuum, and only then is the bag emptied. The machine, which has a discharge capacity of up to 120 bags per hour, is at present being used in feed, food, chemical and pharma industries. It will be displayed by Dinnissen at POWTECH (Hall 4, Stand 323). www.dinnissen.nl
