22.04.2013 Dust collector filters: understanding overall costs

Camfil Air Pollution Control has published a new brochure that describes how to calculate total cost of ownership (TCO) for cartridge dust collector filters. Plant operating personnel are invited to use the methodology in the brochure to select filters that will save money while improving performance.

TCO identifies and calculates the main components of true filter cost: energy, consumables, and maintenance and disposal. Similar to life-cycle costing, a TCO evaluation is much more useful than just comparing initial filter prices because it determines what it really costs to own dust collector filters over a period of time.  The four-page brochure takes the reader through the process step-by-step, providing sample calculations and offering energy-saving tips. It helps readers to select the most economical and sustainable filters for a dust collection application. The brochure can be downloaded at: www.camfilapc.com/tco
