24.06.2013 Behn + Bates outgrows existing headquarters

Packing machine specialist Behn + Bates is building a new manufacturing plant with adjoining offices on the Münster, Germany, site of its parent company Haver & Boecker. The company’s production and office facilities have become overstretched and therefore the decision to expand the Münster site was taken at the end of last year.

Since 1994 Behn + Bates has been part of the Haver Group which employs 2700 people in own production sites and sales offices all over the world. This subsidiary, with its team of 55 employees, specialises exclusively in meeting the packaging needs of the food industry. Its customers are for example cocoa, starch, flour or sugar producers with a requirement to pack bulk products into bags with filling weights of 1.5 up to 50kg (or bulk bags of up to 1500kg) and palletising the bags afterwards. Current order books are reported to be full and the existing production plant again and again reaches its capacity limits. Therefore new production facilities and administrative offices are urgently needed to handle projects and produce machines according to schedule and customer requirements. The building work, which is being undertaken by the construction firm Goldbeck, is scheduled to be completed by end of 2013. Additional staff are expected to be recruited. www.behnbates.com
