15.07.2013 Leaner palletizer offers enhanced efficiency in many areas

Beumer, Beckum, Germany, has fundamentally redesigned its ‘paletpac’ high-capacity layer palletizer, enabling users to benefit from better accessibility, shorter assembly times, greater flexibility and, consequently, lower costs. The upgraded series of machines has been designed to stack filled bags gently and precisely, layer by layer. Products include cement, mortar, pellets, industrial salts and fertilisers packed in paper, PE or PP bags. In the latest version of the paletpac, the lifting frame has been replaced by four chains with a counterweight. This saves considerable weight and thus minimises energy consumption. Previously, a large hoist drive was needed for the system, but now a small motor operating as a servo drive is sufficient, resulting in further weight reduction, less maintenance and, accordingly, lower costs for the user. Moreover, all the components can now be accessed more easily for maintenance and cleaning.

The redesigned paletpac is significantly narrower, resulting in a weight saving of about 2.4t. The external frame elements can now be folded, allowing the entire palletizer head to fit into a single transport container without need for dismantling. The pallet pusher that automatically provides the hoist unit with empty pallets has also been modified, allowing the user quickly and easily to adapt the machine to different pallet sizes without need for tools. Different parameters can be quickly selected by means of a multi-program. The machine can be equipped with a bar-type turning system or with a newly developed twin-belt turning device to position the filled bags quickly, ensuring their dimensional stability. With the paletpac 2500 it is possible to palletise up to 2500 bags per hour. www.beumergroup.com
