29.07.2013 Guttridge collaborates with local school to help inspire next generation of engineers

As a result of an initiative by Guttridge, Spalding, UK, four pupils from nearby Boston Grammar School have recently been given the chance to gain engineering experience and an insight into the challenging world of bulk materials handling. Pupils from the school have been given the opportunity to take part in the Engineering Education Scheme (EES) – an Engineering Development Trust (EDT) programme which links engineering companies with pupils from local schools. The scheme enables pupils to work on live projects relevant to the company, developing skills for future education and employment.

Simon Hooper, engineering manager at Guttridge, said, “The Engineering Education Scheme is a brilliant programme that gives students the opportunity to gain work experience and a valuable insight into the engineering industry. It also highlights the need for young engineers in a number of industries, an issue that the Engineering Development Trust is helping to resolve.” www.guttridge.co.uk
