Granular materials automatically diverted to multiple bins
Dynamic Air has introduced the Series 676 Multi-Port Switch which features all stainless steel material contact surfaces. It is capable of automatically diverting granular materials in a dense phase pneumatic conveying system to as many as 15 different bins or hoppers. The full-bore design permits unrestricted material flow to minimise product degradation and pressure drop to make conveying easier, with less energy. Even cohesive or hard-to-handle materials can be conveyed with better results. The Multi-Port Switch is particularly suitable for applications where cross-contamination is a major concern.
Primary components of the Series 676 Multi-Port Switch are multiple inflatable seals and a unique Geneva drive system for exact positioning when it moves from port to port. The seals are located at the lower pivot point and at each outlet port connection. When the swing tube indexes to the desired port, both the top and bottom seals inflate, squeezing the stainless steel swing tube from both directions to form a pressure tight seal. The blind or unused ports are similarly sealed when the swing tube is not moving, so hoppers and bins are not exposed to the atmosphere.
