23.09.2013 Mixer has ‘gull wing’ doors to facilitate cleaning access

Lindor, Dordrecht, the Netherlands, has released further information about its revolutionary high-capacity L1000 Gull Wing Mixer, a prototype of which was shown at Powtech earlier this year. It features the company’s proven gentle touch mixing technology but has a new sanitary frame and wing doors providing more than three-fold previous cleaning access. With this design the internals of the mixing drum are now fully exposed and an operator can easily clean the inside.

In addition to the recessed frame and the large wing doors, special seals secure a tight fit of the doors on to the mixing drum. The seals are magnetic and therefore ‘stick’ to the doors. They can easily be removed so the doors can be fully cleaned. The seals can be cleaned separately and/or can be replaced by new, disinfected or freshly cleaned seals. This new concept of using magnetic seals on a stainless steel body has been submitted for patent.
The traditional 10-12 manual tighteners per door have been replaced by three large locking bars which can be manually locked and released by a single twist.
Lindor offers this mixer with an extra-large diameter inlet and outlet for an even higher production capacity. This new design has been developed with food products like infant formulae, milk powder blends and instant food products in mind. The mixer will initially be available in the sizes L500 (maximum batch size 500 litres), L750, L1000, L1500 and L2000. www.lindor.nl
