08.10.2013 FSSC-certified IBCs offer full traceability

Schütz, headquartered in Selters, Germany, featured several industrial packaging innovations at the FachPack exhibition which took place in Nuremberg during the last week of September. The company chose the occasion to present new FSSC 22000-certified Foodcert IBCs and drums. The introduction of the innovative Foodcert packaging embraces system certification in compliance with the latest industry standard FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification, based on ISO 22000 in combination with PAS 223). Schütz, the world’s foremost manufacturer of intermediate bulk containers, is in the process of having all production facilities worldwide audited for compliance with the new standard, thereby setting a new benchmark by following the Global Food Safety Initiative, which recognises this comprehensive system certification. FSSC approval provides a guarantee to customers that the packaging complies with all specifications regarding materials, the production process and the end product.

Also on show was the Ecobulk IBC with a newly developed full plastic pallet, featuring a bottom plate of high-quality PE with a functional design. Multiple struts and ribs ensure stability and strength. Regularly spaced drainage holes prevent liquid from collecting. Cleanliness also takes top priority in the new pallet; corrosion is avoided and the pallet is easy and quick to clean. The product meets the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness – key conditions for its use in the food industry. The material is exceptionally resistant to chemicals, deformation and damage, and also features enhanced cold impact resistance. www.schuetz.net
