09.12.2013 Top filling of silos by transport containers

KSE Process Technology, Bladel, the Netherlands, has introduced a dedicated system for filling storage silos fully automatically. It employs containers, resulting in low contamination transport. The ALFRA Silo Filling Unit (SFU) automatically fills a complete silo deck using transport containers. It features a movable shuttle which traverses both from left to right as well as from back to front in order to position above the selected silo cell and discharge directly into it. Each container can transport up to 5000 litres of raw materials or finished product. The system can be equipped with a lid lifter which automatically raises the bin top cover to allow the container to discharge its load. Effective dust extraction and diversion of return air are also possible with this ingenious system.

The ALFRA SFU forms part of KSE’s Automatic Container Transport system: a well proven technology for low-contamination transport using containers. Among its advantages are that it is robust, fast, non- abrasive, energy-saving and extremely flexible. It can be used for the total process or just parts of it. The system is fully automatic for maximum process control and continuity of quality. www.kse.nl
