16.12.2013 Accurate sampling from bulk bags

Kersting Sampling + Grounding, Brilon, Germany, has introduced a new method for sampling material carried in bulk bags and sacks as well as in larger unit loads such as containers or trucks. The JetSampler, which was recently shown at the IFF (research institute of feed technology), is a mobile device which operates in a similar manner to that approved for truck samplers. However, there are some small but important differences. Conveying of the product is achieved by a strong airflow, which is fairly gentle on the particles. A high-efficiency cyclone separates the bulk product from the air and the sample is then collected in a bin. The shape of the lance ensures deep penetration, allowing any spot in the load to be reached.

The JetSampler consists of three main components:
Stainless steel cabinet with air flow motor, collection bin and cyclone separator
Flexible tubing up to 7m long
Sampling lance made of aluminium or stainless steel.
