Major order for innovative tablet coating system
Gebr. Lödige Maschinenbau, Paderborn, Germany, has won an order for the large-scale implementation of its new LC Series coater. A leading German pharmaceutical manufacturer will employ the LC 150, which offers a useable volume of 750 litres, for the organic coating of tablets. Commissioning/start-up is scheduled for April 2015. Top priority in the development of the LC Series, which was designed specifically for coating tablets, has focused on optimum process management combined with ease of operation and cleaning.
Innovative technology makes it possible to easily set and automatically control the correct spraying distance and angle at any time, in order to achieve the best possible result. A specially designed and extensive high pressure jet assembly helps ensure short processing times as well as superior coating homogeneity of the tablets. To guard against risk of explosion, the entire process takes place in a nitrogen circulation system. Lödige was chosen after intensive comparative testing with other coating system providers.
