14.04.2014 Extended warranty for loading chutes

Vortex, Salina, KS, has announced a 10 year warranty on its loading chute lifting cables applicable to standard and high volume systems. A novel four-cable lifting design provides maximum stability, compared to conventional two- or three-cable systems. The in-line drive system also incorporates special three-piece CNC-machined pulleys that feature chamfered edges and precision cable grooves to reduce cable wear and backlashing as the telescopic chute extends and retracts, especially during misalignment of the hatch opening in the case of shiploading. Because the cables do not fray, cable failure is nearly eliminated as is costly downtime for repairs. "We are confident that our loading spout's design will increase the lifespan of the lifting cables," said Jon Jasinski, vice president loading solutions at Vortex.
In addition to its telescopic loading chutes, the company offers positioners, a dustless in-line filtration system and aeration capability to load and convey dry bulk materials in various applications including railcars, road powder tankers, open trucks, barges and stockpiling. Vortex has Europeam offices in the UK and Switzerland.
