23.06.2014 Replacement bucket elevator to handle ammonium sulphate for EuroChem

Aumund Fördertechnik, Rheinberg, Germany, has won a contract to supply a bucket elevator to the Antwerp plant of EuroChem (BASF) for transport of ammonium sulphate. Scheduled to be installed towards the end of the year, the 800t/h capacity belt bucket elevator will have a bucket width of 1250mm and an axis-centre distance of 42m. It will replace an existing bucket elevator of significantly lower capacity and a major challenge will be to install the new machine within the existing building.
Aumund will additionally provide a distribution chute and several connecting chutes. Owing to the corrosive atmosphere at the plant, the bucket elevator will be fabricated completely of stainless steel and will be fitted with wear-resistant plastic linings. While remaining a dominant force in the global cement industry, the company continues to diversify into other industrial sectors. www.aumund.com
