The Italian facility develops powder coatings in multiple colours, and uses a batch system on the production floor. The raw materials warehouse prepares each individual batch, and loads all of the materials for the batch in a pile. The work staff would then dump all of the raw materials in the pile into a mobile mixer for production. LaborSave provided a solution that took into account that the workflow was based on batches. A further problem was that, while 80% of the material was suitable for LaborSave (sacks of raw materials), 20% of the raw material was not in sacks.
