07.07.2014 South America’s most advanced infant milk powder line

NEU International Process, La Chapelle d’Armentières, France, has supplied an infant-formula milk powder line to the Nogoya plant of La Sibila, the leading Argentinian producer of milk powder, much of which is sold nationally and internationally under the Purisma brand. The line is completely automated, from materials intake, pneumatic conveying, dosing and mixing through to powder packing.
Milk powder arrives from the drying tower or via bulk bags. Minor and major ingredients like lactose, vitamins, probiotics and minerals arrive in sacks. These raw materials are pneumatically conveyed to intermediate storage, after which they are transferred to dosing and micro-dosing stations to feed by gravity a rapid paddle mixer. This mixer is of completely open design to facilitate access for inspection and cleaning. Prior to despatch the mixed ingredients are pneumatically conveyed by a 4200kg/h low-velocity dense phase negative-pressure system designed to cause minimal product impact. The entire installation is supervised by the NEUBatch® system that allows traceability of raw materials and finished products, cleaning traceability and also the traceability of operator supervision performance. www.neu-process.com
