15.09.2014 Compact drawer magnets safeguard stretch film production

Bunting Magnetics Europe, Berkhamsted, UK, recently supplied a series of magnetic separators to the Leominster factory of BPI Minster Films, a producer of agricultural and industrial stretch film with three sites in the UK and one in Belgium. The separators capture any ferrous metal contamination in the process, preventing equipment damage and production downtime.
BPI placed orders for three Model LP (low-profile) high-strength rare earth drawer magnetic separators, each of which incorporates three high-powered rare earth tube magnets which can be easily removed from the front for cleaning. These units were also fitted with a top slide plate that can be pushed into position prior to cleaning to prevent any risk of spillage.  The drawer magnets are cleaned every four days and during recent maintenance part of a screwdriver was found firmly attached to the magnets.  This would have caused significant damage and downtime if the magnets had not been installed.  The cost of equipment damage alone would have totalled several thousand pounds. Since the first three magnetic separators were supplied, BPI has purchased a further six of these units from Bunting. www.buntingeurope.com
