NORRES Schlauchtechnik, Gelsenkirchen, Germany, has introduced various versions of its hose connections which have been adapted for use in food and pharmaceutical industries. These include the CONNECT 240 + 241, 242 MHF, 243 MHF, 244 MHF, 245 MHF as well as 246 MHF. These can be used with the food-grade polyurethane hoses from the NORRES AIRDUC® series.

The company points out that technical hose systems in contact with foodstuff are subject to strict hygiene requirements to comply with various regulations and industry directives. The latest CONNECT components have a contact surface which is food-grade according to EC directive 2002/72/EC, including amendment directive 975/2009/EC and directive 10/2011. They are free of softener and halogen as well as being microbe and hydrolysis resistant. They can be used in a temperature range of -40° to 90°C as well as being highly abrasion-proof and having a high tensile strength and tear resistance.
