Toppy Srl, Bazzano (BO), Italy, has devised a completely new and revolutionary pallet made from recycled plastic material which is light, clean, robust and fully recyclable. These patented pallets are ‘nestable’, allowing them to be stacked one inside the other to save transport and storage space when not in use – by as much as 97% compared with conventional pallets. Although very thin and light (a single pallet weighs 1.2kg) they can safely sustain static loads up to 2000kg. Unit cost is reported to be about 60% that of a wooden pallet.
